Patterns On The Shelf

A doll pattern lending library

Projects

I've made many dolls in my day, as you can tell from the dolls available in the library, and I think I'm qualified to make a few
recommendations to beginners, or to those who'd like a challenge, or maybe you'd like to get your creativity flowing.

Another Raggedy Anne Style Doll

This doll is lots of fun to make.  She was originally intended to be made form wood (her body & head), but I chose to make her from fabric.  I drew her face on with oil pencils.  They smudge better when blending.  Isn't she cute?!!

want to try your skills on this doll, she's in the download section.  Make a family, to give, and enjoy.

African Doll

The African Doll, I mentioned in the blog; she's not one I would recommend for a true beginner.  The sewing is not curvy or peice worked, so she could be perfect for learning.  Don't let the look fool you.  Attention to detail is the name of the game; as is with most dolls.  Her hands and feet need careful attention to  get the right shape.  Of course you can make her with or without the sandals.  Her hair is made from hair extensions, a coil shape, kinky twist style would work perfect.  At the time of this first doll, that type of hair was not out.                                                    africandoll2.jpg

Her sandals are made from cardboard; after you're done, they look like leather.  They really do!
